Last week's assignment for photography class was supposed to be "leading lines" - using lines to draw the viewer through the picture.  I couldn't really come up with much, but I had this one on hand that I think sorta works:

I also had a chance last week to catch up on one that I'd missed.  Their first week's assignment was to take a picture of something that evokes the idea of "heat."  This little flare-up while I was grilling seems to fit the bill:
