Sunday morning, I discovered we had a little visitor.

He's come around our house a few times before, but I could usually only get a shot of him through the window of the back door, or else I'd catch his fuzzy little tail as he was scampering away.  This time he must have been feeling particularly playful (or hungry)--he kept his distance but never did just completely flee or hide from us. 

I switched to my telephoto lens and got some good shots.  It wasn't easy having to manually focus each time, but fortunately he stuck around long enough for me to get several good pictures.  I was even startled at one point because I had focused about as close as I could, so I brought the camera down and realized he was standing almost right in front of me!  As Papa would say, I probably could've sprinkled some pepper on his tail.

Marci tossed out some baby carrots for him, but he seemed pretty content to munch on our grass (although I did notice that they were gone this morning).  Considering we don't have a trimmer yet, I wish he'd stay around and clean up around the edges of the yard.
