Something's Fishy

Since it's apparently the hottest new trend in blogging to take pictures of your food, here's ours.  Back when Marci was still pukey, she got some Low Sodium Ritz crackers, thinking the lower sodium would be healthier.  That led to an important discovery--Ritz without salt are really lame.  They're a bit like somebody came along and licked all the salt off the top and then put them back.

Anyway, Marci had the great idea that we could get rid of some of them by crushing them up to bread some fish.  We were surprised; they turned out really good in spite of the lower sodium.

 



We didn't have anything to eat with it, so I made hushpuppies, using a recipe I found on the package of cornmeal.  They weren't pretty, but they were tasty. 

 



If that wasn't enough improvisation, I also discovered that we didn't have any cocktail sauce; but after a quick Google search and some experimenting of my own, I concocted a reasonable facsimile.

All in all, it was a great meal considering it started out just with the idea to get rid of some nasty crackers.
