On January 28, 1958, at 1:58pm, the LEGO® brick was born. Considering how many countless hours I logged building everything from cars to houses to motorized Technic contraptions to an entire castle scene (that's probably still intact in Mom's attic!), I figured it appropriate to congratulate LEGO on 50 years, with hopes of another 50 (at least). Out of every toy I ever had, nothing (not even the Wii) could come close to the enjoyment I got from LEGO. I can only hope to encourage the same passion for imaginitive (and quiet!) play in our little one. . . even if that means that I'm the one cursing in the middle of the night after stepping on some random brick that wasn't put away. . .
