Baby's First Pictures

December 11, 2007 at 7:43 PMJeremy

This morning we got our first look at this exiting, scary, and tiny thing that's growing inside Marci.  I thought we'd just see some sort of featureless blob, but there was a clear head, body, and appendages, with a tiny little fluttering spec in the middle.  I also always assumed that the baby was just completely motionless until some point later in the pregnancy when the mother could feel it moving, but this kid bounced around a couple of times while we were watching.

Anyway, things were exactly as they should be at this point.  Baby is a little over an inch long.  The ultrasound calculated us at 9 weeks 2 days, which is exactly where we are.  It said the due date would be July 13th, but the doctor still said it was the 16th so who knows (it'll probably be neither day anyway).  Oh, and yes, I specifically asked if there was any chance that another one was hiding in there.

No.

Thank.

Goodness.

Anyway, here are the pictures:

Yep, it's just me in there.

My head is on the left.  Aren't I cute?

Only 9 weeks old and I already have some classy black and white photos.  My uncle would be so proud.

Mommy was feeling a little bit better yesterday at work and this morning, but she started feeling worse around dinnertime.  Maybe it's ending, maybe not.  I just hope she starts feeling better soon.  She really wants to enjoy this time.

OH MY GOODNESS!!  Look at my beautiful grandbaby!!  I love it!!

Wow, your ultrasound is PERFECT! Thanks for sharing! Take good care of mommy and yourself.

What's funny is that she will never feel better. It all starts with the morning sickness and doesn't end until after you pay the last college bill. AT least, that's what I hear.

Just kidding. everybody has 2 good trimesters from what I can tell, so you'll get some time to enjoy.

I am just so excited. The morning sickness does subside. Love you both and thanks for allowing us to share in this.
