Food

Food has been interesting with a pregnant woman suffering morning sickness in the house.  Marci is normally all about eating; she loves to cook and loves to eat, all kinds of different things.  So you'd think that having an excuse to eat a meal every 2 or 3 hours would be awesome for her.  Unfortunately, she's so limited in what actually digests well and doesn't leave her stomach upset, she's left with some pretty boring options and winds up eating similar things for each "meal."

Since Marci is normally the cook, this has put me out on my own.  She doesn't feel like eating anything very exotic (read: tasty), and she can't eat too much in one sitting, so she really hasn't wanted to fix anything.  So, I was really grateful two weeks ago when I went to pick up Tipsy for the week and Mom had left a bunch of leftover hamburgers and hot dogs from Madison's party the Sunday before.  Over the entire Thanksgiving holiday, I think I had a hamburger almost every day.  Plus, there was leftover cookie cake and a chocolate cake that had to be eaten.  It was really nice not to have to worry about what to fix, at least for a few meals.

This week, I've been equally blessed.  We have a whole lasagna left over along with some bread, and Nana and Brenda were nice enough to leave me some desserts.  Plus, I've got several gallons of tea and a few cases of soda to polish off sometime.  Even disposable plates and silverware, although I've been keeping pretty well on top of the dishes, which stack up quickly when someone is switching between ginger ale, milk, and instant breakfast, and eating something about 10 times a day.

We're so lucky to have so much family living nearby.  I'm sure they'll take really good care of us after the baby arrives and we're too dazed and sleep-deprived to fend for ourselves.

This is really BJ typing. Try ginger snaps too, they really help the stomach, and any stale-type breads (read: bagels). Definitely stay away from things like mints, peppermints, and anything citrusy (lemons or oranges). Those were what really got Courtney. Ironically, she did like eating chili for a whole week and never got sick, so Marci could be different.

Oh, and for Jeremy, eat lots of ice cream. It helps.

Yeah, we've read all about the various things that help.  I don't know that ginger has really done much for her, and she actually seems to do pretty well with peppermint.

What Marci really seems to like these days are potatoes - baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, potato chips.  I could suggest chili, but I don't think it would go over too well.
