Last Sunday

Last Sunday was a pretty busy one.  While I was getting ready for church, Marci put Jonathan on a blanket on the floor and he was enjoying looking around and working his little arms and legs.  I got some great shots, but unfortunately I'd been playing with my camera in Manual earlier and forgot to change the ISO off of 800, so there's more grain that there should've been.  Still, my boy's dang cute.  Wink

Posing for the camera.

Throwing some kind of gang symbol.  Kids these days...

So adorable.

At church, we had a special guest speaker: Hank Hough.  Hank is a master dog trainer, and brought his labrador Prophet to give a great demonstration on obedience: both our obedience to God, and as parents, the importance of teaching obedience to our children.  It was really an awesome, powerful message.  I hope I can raise my child to be a champion.

Here's some shots from it, where I got to play more with my low-light fixed lens.

Hank and Prophet.

Ready!

Got it!

For lunch, we went to Mom's house for burgers to celebrate Marci's birthday on Wednesday.

She doesn't look a day over 27.

We stayed at Mom's house for quite a while.  Most of us got a nap while she played with Jonathan, and then we sat around watching Apollo 13 until the movie got cut short by a power outage.

It didn't really rain, but the wind picked up and there was a lot of lightning in the distance.  I didn't have a tripod, so I got my f/1.8 lens and just started shooting randomly.  I think I took over 400 exposures, but about 395 of those were almost solid black.  Only two actually had an obvious lightning bolt.

Inside, Mom lit a bunch of candles in the fireplace and Marci and Morgan chatted about stuff.

More fun with wide apertures:
