Nice Snowing You

April 8, 2011 at 10:10 PMJeremy

Yes, snow pictures (posting pretty late).

I'm a bit impressed that the first thing Jonathan wanted to do was shovel snow.  I told Marci that we should have taken him door to door shoveling driveways and sidewalks.

That's about how much snow we got.

And, of course, being Texas this was the next day:

Foggy Day

March 26, 2009 at 2:04 PMJeremy

It's been pretty murky all day today, to the point of being difficult to drive in some areas.  To demonstrate, I took this shot during my morning commute:

Pretty bad, huh?

(Again, at least I know Brandon will get it.)

Last Sunday

August 9, 2008 at 2:50 PMJeremy

Last Sunday was a pretty busy one.  While I was getting ready for church, Marci put Jonathan on a blanket on the floor and he was enjoying looking around and working his little arms and legs.  I got some great shots, but unfortunately I'd been playing with my camera in Manual earlier and forgot to change the ISO off of 800, so there's more grain that there should've been.  Still, my boy's dang cute.  Wink

Posing for the camera.

Throwing some kind of gang symbol.  Kids these days...

So adorable.

At church, we had a special guest speaker: Hank Hough.  Hank is a master dog trainer, and brought his labrador Prophet to give a great demonstration on obedience: both our obedience to God, and as parents, the importance of teaching obedience to our children.  It was really an awesome, powerful message.  I hope I can raise my child to be a champion.

Here's some shots from it, where I got to play more with my low-light fixed lens.

Hank and Prophet.

Ready!

Got it!

For lunch, we went to Mom's house for burgers to celebrate Marci's birthday on Wednesday.

She doesn't look a day over 27.

We stayed at Mom's house for quite a while.  Most of us got a nap while she played with Jonathan, and then we sat around watching Apollo 13 until the movie got cut short by a power outage.

It didn't really rain, but the wind picked up and there was a lot of lightning in the distance.  I didn't have a tripod, so I got my f/1.8 lens and just started shooting randomly.  I think I took over 400 exposures, but about 395 of those were almost solid black.  Only two actually had an obvious lightning bolt.

Inside, Mom lit a bunch of candles in the fireplace and Marci and Morgan chatted about stuff.

More fun with wide apertures:

Snow Day!!!!!

March 7, 2008 at 9:51 AMJeremy

It's a rare treat to see snow around here.  I had expected flurries, but when the weatherman said that none of it would stick to the roads, I assumed there wouldn't be enough to stick anywhere else either.  Instead, I'd say we easily got about 1-2 inches.  I'd be upset about having to come in to work on a snowy day, but it was already starting to melt when I left the house.

I got lots of pictures, though.  I shot a bunch around the house, and then took my Cybershot with me on my morning jog to get some pics of the neighborhood.  I'll have to sort through them tonight, but here's a few to start with:

BRRRRR!!!!!

March 6, 2008 at 2:54 PMJeremy

Guess it's Texas weather -- I can't believe that it was hot enough to wear shorts on Saturday, and today it's in the 30's and dropping steadily.  Al Gore might have to burn his Nobel Prize just to keep warm.

Speaking of which, he's been noticeably absent this winter...  Could it have anything to do with 2007 being the coldest year of the century so far?
